A case of lead poisoning is presented and recent literatures are reviewed. A 17-year old Korean female had been admitted to Chosun University Hospital, with chief complaints of abdo.rlinal colic, nausea and vomitting after ingestion of home-made mineral herb ,)ills.´ Laboratory, examination are as following : anemia with hypochromic and normocytic, reticuloc tosis and basophilic stippling of erythrocytes in peripheral blood and , erythroid hyperplasia in bode marrow. Serum level of lead was 247. 1pg/dt and coproporphyrin in 24 hours was 374.0㎍. After treatment with Ca-EDTA and penicillamin, symptoms are subsided aad urine gave a 5.8㎍/24 hours for delta-aminilevulinic acid.
We lead experienced one case of lead poisoning. Lead poisoning was confirmed by lead concentration in blood and urine, and the increased amount of coproporphyrin, delta aminolevulinic acid in 24 hours urine.
